083 Facets [Accidental Voice:Engish] It's raining echidna
[The transmission starts with a clatter, and a a thud, a few thuds actually and a painful sounding groan.]
ow Okay...not trying that again for a while.
Where's...oh for crying out loud! I hate this flipping communicator.

(ooc: Okay, an echidna [wearing a green sweater] just fell out of the sky outside Latimir and bounced along the pavement Commentlogs are welcome, but he will one cranky echidna. Let this be a lesson to you, don't glide while still recovering from blood loss.)

[Don knows you can, but it's an excuse, really.
... Yeah, Don's been a bit argumentative, lately. Probably best to avoid starting him up again.]

[Knuckles runs a hand though his dreads.]
I can't remember the last time I fell out of a glide.
no subject
[Donatello looks a bit more worried for a moment, but he returns to his normal level of worry afterwards.]
... You should probably take it easy for the next couple of weeks just until your body replenishes its blood supply a bit more. [A beat.] Does your side hurt anymore than it has?
no subject
Don, I just fell somewhere between fifteen to twenty feet out of the air, everything hurts more than it has been.
[And yet, you can't really tell he's in pain. Looks like someone is really good at pretending he's well when he isn't.]
no subject
I'm going to wait until after you remove your bandages and I look you over before I start panicking, if that's all right with you. You're just as bad as my brothers... [At least they have shells.]
no subject
So is here okay for you or do you want to do this in another room?
[He's already holding the hem of his sweater but waiting for Don's answer before starting to pull it off.]
no subject
... We can do it in Leo's room. [The one he's sharing with Leo, anyways. He smiles softly, and maybe, just maybe, his tone is teasing a little.] More private in case I have to "scold" you.
no subject
Okay...[Knuckles looks a little confused at the scolding remark until...] You're the medic of the family because you're the mother hen aren't you?
no subject
[That actually gets a laugh instead of a quick denial.] ... Someone has to be. We don't have a mother. But Leo and I share the responsibility, really. Tag team, sometimes.
no subject
[He's pulled the sweater off now and is walking towards Leo's and Don's room, and he's definably pulled his stitches since there's a small patch of red on the bandages.
And that confused look is back.]
Do families have to have a designated 'Mother'?
no subject
[Donatello frowns a bit in worry, but doesn't immediately rush over to tug the bandages off. It's a sign of restraint, really, and what he would do for Raph. Knuckles is somewhat similar to his hotheaded brother.
He shrugs.]
Don't know. The only family I've ever known is mine. We.. don't have a lot of "families" that are friends with us. But it's how it ended up.
[A beat. A frown.]
It... looks like you pulled some stitches. We'll have to look at it right away.
no subject
[Knuckles winces, looks like part of the bandage is stuck to the wound. Knuckles takes a closer look at it instead of just pulling at it, but still...do you really want to trust someone who reminds you of Raph to deal with this problem?]
no subject
[He grabs a bottle of water that he left around for just these sorts of things, then grabs a washcloth from a drawer, and is back. If Knuckles is going to argue, it's already falling on deaf ears. Don's too busy unscrewing the cap and gently wetting the wash cloth.]
We'll have to use some water to wet the bandage so it doesn't stick anymore. Otherwise you'll pull either the stitches or the scabs, and neither is good.
no subject
I do know that.
[Great personal space invasion time. Knuckles let's out a long sigh and steels himself for it.]
How much longer do you think I'll need to keep these stitches in anyway?
no subject
As long as necessary. [Don gives an apologetic look.] I don't know how fast your species heals, Knuckles.
no subject
Echidna heal about as fast as any other mammal.
[Knuckles looks down at where the bandages are now gone]
That bald patch looks ridiculous
no subject
It's standard procedure. [Donatello sighs and wets the cloth, then holds the cloth out to Knuckles.] Here. Hold this against right there. [He points.] I'll cut the bandages away from the area after it's more wet and then remove those that are stuck. [See, he's giving you some personal space still.]
no subject
Maybe, but it doesn't change how it looks. [Yay! None of the doctors would let him do stuff himself!] Right...thank you.
no subject
Well... No, I suppose it doesn't. [A chuckle, seeing that reaction.] Just tell me if I'm invading your space or if you want to do something yourself, Knuckles. [He's had to do this with Raph before.. or Leo. Usually not Mikey, though--that turtle thrived on attention and physical contact.]
